Why haven't we had an official (or even unofficial) 5.0 for the m version? Isn't the hardware just about the same in terms of processing power and speed?
I dunno. I'm starting to doubt there will be, and my cynical side thinks carriers are just not bothering with releasing it cause they want us to lock ourselves into new 2 year contracts.

So where is your About screenshot? That is the only screenshot that counts. Only if your device = 8330m on your About screen will I believe you loaded 5.0 on an m. You cannot load 8330 software on an 8330m, the OS has to match the device, or it will not load.
Just because you have an MEID number means nothing. ALL Verizon 8330's are 8330 devices in the About screen whether they have an MEID or ESN number. Telus could be the same, your device could have an MEID number but have an 8330 designation in the About screen.
So let's see that screenshot...
Edit: As I thought, your screenshot clearly shows your device is an 8330, not an m.

Lately I have been thinking the same but feel stuck in the middle! I would gladly lock in again if they just put out a new phone! LOL
