8330 buttons not working

For the last few weeks my phones been really gimpy, like if i press in on the trackball it would come up as "#$@" or something like that instead of the trackball click, and i would have to do 5-6 battery pulls until it functioned right.
This happened to me again today at work, so i did a battery pull and put my phone back in my pocket waiting for it to reboot, and now the phone doesnt respond to any button press at all -.- i tried completely whipping it a few times to make sure that wasnt the issue, no go.
I can't afford a new phone, and have to fix this one. anyone else experience this and found a work around?

awesome, got it working, then had to reboot for an app world update now its in an endless reboot cycle.
