Hello all, I know there have been tons of threads about this but I haven't seen a definitive answer yet, so I'm posting. I have a Verizon BB Curve 8330. It is a MEID device, yet in the options>about screen it is shown as an 8330 (no m). So which is it? Most of what I've seen indicates that it would be an "m" device but if it was, shouldn't show as an "m" in the about screen? Also the label on the box doesn't call it an "m" either. Thanks in advance.

You have a vanilla 8330, not the 8330m.

Best way to try out is through MMS... if I understood correctly only the 8330m is able to display pictures in MMS.

Thanks for the response. That was my suspicion as well. I'll check and see how the MMS works.

With sprints .175 os the pics are embedded also. I think you can look at the length of the esn but not sure about the difference except the "M" is a longer number.

I was wondering the same thing. I have an 8330 that has an MEID number like the OP's. My wife has an 8330m. Both have the same MEID # length- 18 numbers, shown in 2 sets of 5 and 2 sets of 4.

Maybe if I get bored later I'll try loading the m OS on it and see what happens.

My 8330 has twelve numbers... two sets of five and one set of two... So maybe that is a way to tell the difference.. I am looking at options, status for the info

Have you looked in the options>about screen on both of them? Does your wife's show as an 8330m and yours as an 8330? I'm guessing this is how you know your wife's is an "m".

Yes, hers shows as an 8330m, and mine as a regular 8330 on the 'About' screen, but both have an MEID # in the status.

So I guess that settles it then. Thank you for taking the time to reply. Happy New Year to all!
