I would like to upgrade my os to 4.5. My question is will this affect my connection to my company's enterprise server for my emails, etc.? Is the upgrade seamless so it just changes OS or will it affect all loaded programs and settings?

Most OS upgrades will not effect your apps or your email. I would talk to your Co's IT department to verify this.

Are you staying within the 4.5 core realm?

Yes, I just received this from my company so I would be safe to say i probably would not go past 4.5 anytime soon.

You should not have any problems if you ugrade. All of your apps, messages, emails etc. will be reloaded back onto your phone without you having to do anything.
As for your company email and stuff, nothing should be affected. In the end, you just have the benefit of having a better OS.
In the rare chance that there's a problem, you can always downgrade back.
