I want to upgrade my operating system to 4.6 which I already have and loaded correctly deleting the vmx file. My question is will the phone stay unlocked.

The 8320 has v4.5xx support, but no v4.6xx.

That is only available for the 8330 Curve, the one with 96 Mb.
