I'm new to Blackberry but see myself as somewhat computer literate. I have followed the upgrade 101 instructions to the tee but still cannot get my ATT 8310 to upgraded to OS 4.5. I deleted the vendor.xml file and reran it to no avail. I forgot to remove it once and got the upgrade screen. I did not proceed once I received the update available screen. I removed the vendor file and no upgrade screen. I even tried the Crackmem program with no success.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

which is the latest software: the 4.5.0.152 version AT&T is listing as available or the 4.5.0.99 version I downloaded on my phone last week?

The newer version is the AT&T version which is actually 4.5.0.110. The number
you need to pay attention to is Applications. 4.5.0.152 is the Package Version.

Package Version: 4.5.0.152
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.110
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.90

Thanks, so what is the consensus out there? What benefits are there to go to this version? Risks? I just recently upgraded and the primary reason was the ability to go to a 8 gig card from the 4 the earlier version supported. I love having lots of pics and a good amount of music to take with me. Can anyone describe any other features that this new version will bring us? Risks?

Hello all new to bb and crackberry. Was going to upgrade to 4.5.o.99 version . my phone says i have 4.2 but when i connect dm to upgrade it says no software update required for your device. Am I missing something provider is at&t Thanks

UH OH. I totally forgot to delete the vendor.xml file before upgrading to my BB. I'm freaking out right now as my phone is currently in the process of upgrading. Will this eff up my phone? Help please!!!

Ok trying to update my OS with this thread and have to do 3rd party application thing or whatever. I need to know when it wipes out my device, will I loose my games that I had paid for on my phone? Let me know...Peace

Also I would really appreicate it if someone can IM me and go step by step on how to do the upgrade for the OS and 3rd party apllication so I wont mess up..lol
