So I just got a 8310 for free and she told me she went to use it one day and it stopped working... like she couldnt hit any buttons or anything, she can scroll but thats it.... So I was thinking about trying to wipe it and re-installing a newer OS... ii have not done this for this type of phone... anyone got any suggestions on what to do and how to fix it?

With the phone on, remove the battery for a few seconds, then put it back. If that fixes it, you might consider returning it if the previous owner can still use it.

She gave it to me to fix, there hasnt been a battery in it since october, when i plug in the usb it wont recognize it

Also my PC wont recognize the blackberry at all... any ideas on what I should do with that?
