Glad I found this thread. My 8330 arrived on Wed. and the battery life seems to be much less than my 7130. Given its faster and it has a bigger screen, battery life just doesn't seem up to par. I don't leave any apps or the browser running. But, in fairness, I've been running the browser on it quite a bit the last couple days, which I'm sure is taxing the battery. I may also look into the extended battery for this device.
I've heard that running it through a few charge/discharge cycles helps with these cells so that's what I'm going to do and see what happens.
While it is true that Li-Ion cells do like to be charged without being fully run down, it helps to run it down once it a while to reset the battery. I generally do this purposefully about once every month or 2.
