Ok so i just upgraded to 4.5 and it turned out perfect. no problems what so ever. the browser is definitely better. doc to go works good aswell. is there anything i need to watch out for by going to the new OS or is everything going to run as smooth as 4.3

I had the same flawless experience as the poster, everything is working great on my verizon curve with 4.5. As far as I can tell, all of my preferences remained untouched through the upgrade - contrary to the Crackberry 101 which says you'll lose some prefs. So far, so good. Good luck to the rest of you
Man I really wana upgrade but I want the verizon upgrade and I don't want to go through all trouble.

i wouldnt say its any more trouble to use this one. its 1 click extra. all you have to do extra is click the tab for delete vendor in crack mem. very simple
It looks like the GPS is no longer crippled but it still dont show good information with google maps. But it works on blackberry Maps. It does not work from inside the house so ill test it today and let you know more tonight.

Congrats on getting 4.5 I did mine last week and had no problems either, which I was thankful for since I had such terrible problems with the previous phone.
i am a newbie to the whole OS download process. i have been reading different posts on CB, and I am unsure what steps to use. which original forum is the best for the upgrade process?
and i have to do this from my home computer that has the DM, right?
Very easy upgrade for me too (VZW curve). Couldn't figure out at first why it wasn't finding the upgrade from Desktop Manager until I remembered to delete the vendor.xml file. All on my BB works perfectly. Had to reload facebook app but that's it! I'll probably upgrade my wife's curve soon too. I really like how it handles txt messages now (bulleted within msg).

Do I need a specific DM version? Im running an old DM because the newer versions dont work with my work version of Outlook (we're running like Outlook 2000... it's pathetic)
