I have a 8 g card in mine. Only thing with it is it says I have 7.4 total space. In stead of 8.0. Is that normal? Other than that it works great.

Yes, the unformatted capacity of the 8 GB SD card is 8.0 GB but when formatted actual storage capacity is limited to 7.4 GB with the remainder allocated to the filesystem overhead.
