I've got 6 full movies and the entire 2nd season of Boondocks and barely put a dent in an 8GB card. What damage could I do with a 16GB?

    Quick explanation:

    In computers, 1 KB = 1,024 bytes
    1 MB = 1,024 x 1,024 bytes = 1,048,576 bytes
    1 GB = 1,024 x 1,024 x 1,024 bytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes

When manufacturers sell storage they use the following:
    1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes
    1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes

So a 16 GB SD card is really
    16,000,000,000 / 1,073,741,824 = 14.9 GB
