Unlocking question (not what you think)

Ok i'm not here to debate wether its possible or not to unlock the 8350i. I have a code to unlock that I purchased. My situation is this:
In order to unlock my phone from Telus, I need a foreign iDen sim (from nextel or boost). Does that sim need to be activated before unlocking or does that not matter at all? I'm looking at buying am unactivated nextel iden sim from ebay but I want to make sure before pulling the trigger.

You can unlock it with any sim inside, just make sure that when you make the unlocking for your blackberry the device have a SIM card inside it.. it can be active or a non-active SIM card just make sure you do it right.. read the instructions about the unlocking right, follow the steps and it will be unlocked without problems even with an closed sim card... after you unlocked it you can switch any sim card you would like.

What phone are you trying to unlock that you need a iDen SIM from Nextel or Boost? Any SIM should work as long as its GSM capable

Well the reason why I post it here is because I have an 8350i from Telus which is cousin with Nextel and Boost. Next year when my contract is up I will change for the Torch2 so with my phone unlocked, resale will be easier.
