Swap SIM from (new) 8350i to (old) 8350i

Alrighty, here's the situation...
I had a Nextel BB 8350i v4.6, the screen cracked and got it replaced (use Enterprise b/c company phone), now I have the same phone Nextel BB 8350i but with OS 5.0. The old phone still "works", I can use the WiFi without the SIM. I'm trying to figure out if I can put my NEW SIM (OS 5.0) into the OLD BB (OS 4.6) and if it would work correctly; be able to send/receive messages, use browser w/o wifi, maybe even update the software to OS 5.0 in case I need it as a back up.

Anyone know??

How about trying it to find out? I think it should work. Even if you have to reinstall the OS, that's really no big deal. I upgraded both of my phones from 4.6 to 5.0 through the Blackberry Desktop software.
