Default Random Shut downs 8350i

I bought this phone off ebay to replace the "no radio at all" phone I have, as soon as I got it I tried to turn on but I gather the battery was dead, so I replaced it with the one off the old one. Upon boot I got an error number 507, turned it off pulled the battery, I let it charge a bit more then tried again, this time it was an error 23 and asked to continue. it did make it to the splash screen finally, and after tinkering with it, it shut down without notice.

I pulled the battery and proceeded to hook it up the the PC to restore all of my files from backup to this phone. At first it wouldn't even connect to phone, said it wasn't avail, after awhile finally got it to connect, and restored back up to phone, all was good except for a few things that didn't install, some apps, etc. Even with my info in it it would still shut down at random. So I decided to wipe it out and re-install the OS, maybe that would fix it.

Connecting it to the desktop was trying, but did get it, I wiped it with jloader, proceeded with the 4.16 install, and about 3/4 of the way thru the install it kept getting disconnected, retry and install. Finally it was finished, and working fine, I re-installed my backups only to find out that the stinkling shut down was still happening. I gave up, disconnected, pulled the sim card, and back to the i465.

Not sure why it keeps shutting down, I asked the seller and she stated that it worked fine for 2 months, but when I told her I was going to give her a negative she protested, saying that it worked fine and one day my hubby surprised me with a new phone and thats why I sold this one....yeah right. I bet she had so many problems that her hubby saw that and gave her a new phone...

Well I tried putting her sim card in there and still shut down on me while I was looking at photos.

Anyone have any ideas, or thoughts? I really dont want to give this BB up but if I cant get it right I just might. PS this is the 5th 8350i phone that I have purchased, and the second one thats dead, the other three work great, two on Nextel and one Boost.

My 8350i has recently started doing the same thing. I would like an answer too if anyone knows how to fix it.

If I understand you correctly, basically, the phone is randomly rebooting but otherwise everything else is ok?

If this is the case, I was having the same problem my tour was rebooting randomly throughout the day. I decided to take a folded up piece of paper that was the length of the battery, on the opposite side of the connectors. Thick enough that it was wasn't easy for me to slide it in between the battery and the phone, so that it put pressure on the connectors.

Since I did that it has never rebooted unexpectedly again. I highly recommend trying this, but you must make sure to put the pressure on the opposite side of the connectors(or at the top of the battery if your looking at it while installed, in between the battery and the phone. Not on top of the battery, between the battery and the battery cover).

Otherwise, a friend of mine was having a major problem with his 8350i showing the 507 error, and eventually couldn't even get the os to load at all. We tried several CB how to's on nuked bb's and nothing worked. I came across this thread called "Unbrick the Seemingly Completely Bricked BlackBerry" by Tutty312 here in the forums, and although it was a little complicated to complete, it brought the 8350i right back to life and it has been fine now since we did it a month ago.

Good luck.
