Default Outlook Contact Sync Format

Hello all,

I just purchased an 8350i and am in the process of migrating my contract list from the Palm One software.

Anyone who has tried this knows that it quickly turns into an MSExcel nightmare. Im ending up copying the relevant data to a CSV file that will eventually be imported into Outlook. I have two questions and would very much appreciate any replies.

1) Does anyone know how to manually enter a wait in the phone number field. I know that you can do this on the phone itself, but I would like to enter it on my excel chart for importing to outlook and eventually syncing to the phone. I have read that an X adds a pause (8885551212X123). How does one designate a wait?

2) This is my first blackberry device with direct connect capability. Where would I encode the direct connect number in an outlook contact so that when Outlook sync's to the phone, direct connect information is automatically available to the phone.

Thanks in advance for any help.

CS

Thanks for the reply. Here is a website that is saying X may insert a wait, but it is dependent on the phone model: boostmobilephones.org/index.php/2009/08/inserting-an-x-for-dialing-extension-when-saving-contact-info/ (as a new user, the forum won't let me post a link, please add the www ahead of this). Anyone with an 8350i feel like checking their outlook sync to see the literal character difference between a P and a W?

Thanks.

to dial an extension, you hold the ALT button and press the x letter (taken form page 48 of the users guide). now i just tried it, and i got a popup that asked dial, cancel, or hangup. how outlook interprets this i have no clue. but thats how you do it in the phone itself.
