Question music sync issues

can anyone tell me why i can't see files in the folders (specifically music) when i look at the media card thru the usb wire on my computer? the directory structure is all there but most (not all) of them are empty. if i copy that empty directory over to my hard drive the song shows up. and i can see them if i've dragged and dropped them there in usb mode, but not if they've been synced.

i want to do some simple editing to titles etc and i can't get it to show up. in fact, when i copy an identical song with corrected title onto the card, then pull the usb wire and look at the song in the "all songs" list it shows two of them, both with the original unedited title.

what up here? thx zz03

i had that problem its kewl too have a song with its image album also and correct info so the way it to use the itunes option sync with the latest desktop software

but if your passing the mp3s with the in memory music folder option well fisrt you plug cable to your phone the to your computer make sure in your phone you have the memory storage on, put the songs in folder, then on your computer "eject" the memory card (right bottom on your comoputer) this a safer and best way to disconect your memory cards, then on you phone go to media and wiat for it to scan your new files

another tip make sure your songs are in correct audio file for the bberry some extensions are not for the phone, check audio specs

but if none of this helps maybe you will have to format your memory card

hope this helps

thanks djb, i'll keep dickin around with it. i don't use itunes, and have built my library over time by ripping from cd mostly, and i don't feel like i should be forced to sync the thing, just want to copy what i want on directly. but i must have synced it at one time, maybe thru windows media player, and that must be where i got the stuff that i can't now seem to change, even tho i've since updated it all on the computer. havn't been ejecting the drive, just yanking the wire, so i'll see what that might affect. thanks again

i got myself a usb card reader that accepts the mini-sd drive from the phone, and plugged it in to see what it shows. there, as when looking at it on the phone, when you look at the music directory, there a bunch of empty sub directories. and powering up the phone without the card and looking at the music library, there is only one song, the "sample" rim music file. so the only thing i can conclude is that the music that is synced on to the phone is somehow hidden in these directories. why would they want to do this??

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
