Angry Problems with 8350i .313 update

I have attempted to install the software update 5 times to no avail. the software works fine until you reboot, then everything goes haywire. I spoke with customer service and also with BB tech support, their suggestions were to re-install the older version of the software or to take the phone to a service center. I chose to go to the service center and after waisting almost two hours (not including the Drive to and from) they determined that they can't fix the problem and are ordering a new phone for me (with the hope that it already has the new software version installed). I have since installed the downgraded software version and am waiting patiently for my new phone to arrive. If anyone has figured out the bugs please let me know.

Default call log

If you change to all calls no direct connect it logs every call you make or receive in the message folder.Thats worse than the direct connect log.

green call button
menu
options
call logging...

"show these call log types in the message list"
missed
all calls
all calls no DC
none

select none

from the homescreen

green call button
menu
options
direct connect....
auto send.... OFF
auto receive.... OFF

now you will NOT see any DC info but in your call log like the MOTO nextel.

yes its safe, you just have to reload your service books though... also you might want to read and decide if you want to do it. it does have "quirks" that some people dont like

The contacts tip helped a lot. I was able to fix it by restoring my contact DB, but after adding a new contact they got all screwed up again, so maybe we just need to run this trick every time a new contact is added? Will have to keep an eye out for that.

Another thing I have been noticing is that I am getting empty MMS messages from time to time. They are international SMS though, US based SMS seem to work fine, but I had never had an issue like this on older versions so don't know what's up. So far it only happens with one of my dad.

I'm a newbie here...Just got my 8350i on Friday. Got it up and running...installed .313 immediately. Everything for the most part has been fine except for issues with MMS. Just testing things out w/ my phone and my wife's (verizon LG Dare) I can send mms messages and her phone will recieve them right away...but if I use her phone to reply or send any new message I get nothing. Email has been working just fine(I immediatley got the registration emails froom this site on the phone within seconds after submitting it). I've tried a master reset...I've tried to register/re-register in Host Routing Table....power cycle on/off doesn't seem to work...I just don't know what else to try. Anyone help? TIA

How to find BlackBerry Secret Codes

Ok, this solved my problem on the recent calls list, but I still cant search my contact list. If i get a DC, the name shows up in recent calls, but when I look for that person in the contact list, they are nowhere to be found??? WTF?
