Has anyone noticed since the upgrade to .294 that the speakerphone for direct connect is not silenced anymore in vibrate mode? I know it was like this in the beginning and was fixed with .194 but it seems to be giving me trouble again. Had my phone on vibrate this morning while in a meeting and one of my drivers starts talking to me on DC and it gets blurted out to the whole room, kind of embarrassing. I'll need to try it in quiet mode and see if its silenced.

Call Telus and report the problem to the network team that has direct weekly meets with RIM at 1-866-553-7104 ext 4002 and explain prior functionality and what has changed in this release with 294

Yah I noticed that as well. I liked it with the most recent nextel update that it did that. It is a pian in the *** to turn off the speakerphone.

I just bought my 8350i Nextel phone and am switching to Boost. I'm in California.

Will this updated software work for my phone?

Not really since this update is for the Telus/Mike network.

The only reason I knew about this update is because I had to get 2 Blackberry replacements from Telus that were still under warranty. Then the user for one of them said that he received a txt message and was able to reply to it. I checked his version and it was v4.6.1.294 (platform 3.1.0.28). So Telus shipped the BB with this version installed.

That night I downloaded and installed the version that's in post #1 of this thread. Once installed I was able to write an SMS message, but it after trying to send I would get a red X. I logged on to mytelusmobility.com and added messaging to my plan with the same result. Then I called Telus and the rep did some stuff to my account, had me to a radio reset and then the SMS messaging worked.

has this issue been fixed yet? another issue i encounter while on .294 on my boost was that i can't no longer switch my browser from blackberry to ie or firefox unless i was on hotspot. on .204 i have the option on switching on both browser and hotspot to ie or firefox

yes, but some of the other companies offer different options... so something might not work correctly.
