i cant receive direct connections in stby mode..

i receive direct connections as normal but when i have my bb in my pocket i press the "a" to turn it to stby mode, and im having problems receiving ptt connections.. somebody know something about it??

When you press the "a" , it locks keyboard...standby mode is obtained by press/hold the very top button. Are you in standby mode or keyboard lock? To answer your question, can people not direct connect you at all? Or can you not respond b/c your keyboard is locked?

If your running 5.0 a/* puts your phone in stanby...

yes im running os 5.0 is there any way to lock my bb, and keep receiving calls, ptts, etc??

because when i "lock" my phone pressing [a] my bb goes to stby and then i cant receive, calls, direct connections, etc because the bb is sleeping when i press the mute key i have lost calls, messages

and my contacts cant call me via direct connect it sounds dead, im running os5.0 is there any way to lock my blackberry and receive everything just unlocking it as usual?

I think it was grant welch that addressed this issue in another thread, but go to options>password>set to enable. You will get a lock icon. The only downside is that you will have to enter your password every time to unlock the phone. Hope this helps
