Pull out the battery, put ONE drop rubbing alcohol on it, hold it upside and rub vigorously. Wait 20-30 minutes, put trackball back in and boot the phone.

Trackballs are cheap, you can get a new one to drop in for between $5and $10

If you want to replace the trackball your going to have to take the whole phone apart. Read this http://forums.crackberry.com/f137/...-8350i-362301/

Here is a youtube video on how to replace the trackball. There may be better vids, just the first one I saw. YouTube - HOW TO REPLACE BLACKBERRY 8350I TRACKBALL

If your looking to COMPLETLY clean or REPLACE the track ball then yes the phone has to be taken apart.

If you don't want to take it apart try using a q tip with some rubbing alcohol. That usually works for me, at least temporarily
