Default Help! Phone randomly rebooting/malfunctioning!

OK, So back in November, I was getting lots of Java errors and clicking on some icons wouldn't do anything and text was not working.. So I backed up data, installed OS 5 and reloaded service books and all was ok till now! This week, the phone would randomly reboot itself and sometimes cycle through the reboot sequence several times before finally getting to the "desktop". Then I'd make a call, hang up and Bam! Reboot again! I've tried reloading the latest OS version several times and even downgrading to 4.6.xx but still not stable. I assume there's a hardware issue like failing internal memory or something.
I bought the phone brand new last March from a mom & pop cell phone store that today is no longer around. I called RIM only to find out they do NOT have a Manufacturers warranty They claim the warranty is passed off to the carrier and do not directly warranty their phones and that I'd have to go through my carrier... Will Boost cover a Nextel 8350i under warranty?
If I had known the manufacturer would not stand behind their product directly, I would have thought twice about buying one of their products! Imagine If I had bought a Sony TV from Circuit City and the TV is supposed to have a 1-year warranty, but Sony tells me sorry, you have to go through Circuit City who's no longer in business! So in RIM's opinion, the phone is OOW and I have to pay $175 for it to be repaired! Are they crazy?
Any ideas as what I could do?

I had this same problem when I first got my 8350i. It would re boot randomly and often. It also would give me a jav# error at the start of the re boot. I talked to support they told me it was a java script error and the only thing to do was replace the phone. Luckily it was still under warranty.

Good Luck!

I don't know if this is actually going to fix it or just a temporary fix, but I went to Add/Remove Programs and removed all OS 5.0.xx versions leaving my original OS 4.6. Then I used JL_Cmder to format/erase the device then application loader to load the 4.6 OS. I restored my data, added the service books and NO 3rd party apps. So far it's working 3 days without crashing/rebooting constantly. I still think there's a hardware problem like bad portion of the memory and with the 4.6 software and no additional apps, maybe it's not using that portion of memory?
I'd like to NOT thank blackberry, Sprint/Nextel, Boost as they were just a complete waste of my time and gas and absolutely no help! Nice dealing with companies that give you the runaround! I think they should compensate me for wasting my time!
