Do you carry TEP on your 8350i?
Do you carry TEP on your blackberry? I got it when I first bought the phone but am thinking about dropping it. At $7 a month and a $100 deductable it seems kind of pricey considering you can get another phone on ebay for $250. Any input?

TEP..... $100 (i thought is was $50) for a lost phone, fix for free......
No TEP..... $250 at ebay for each of the things mentioned
is it worth an extra $7 a month, i think so - 06-11-2009, 08:10 AM #3
I have 5 phones on my account. It's an account plan, so your whole account, times 7 dollars a phone. Newp, I'm 6 months away from being able to reup my phone again as an enterprise permier customer (whatever) so I'll take my chances. Got a pile of phones I could switch to if needed.
Honestly, this one bites the dust, I'll be going to the sprint side. - 06-11-2009, 08:23 AM #4
Since I made the jump to a BB I have found DC is used less and less everyday. I may make a jump back to Sprint but I still like having the 8350i so for now I am staying with the Nextel side. I am tacking my chances without TEP. I use the OB so I have some protection from drops.

I personally work very closely with my Nextel rep because we have so many lines with our business. He told me that in most cases TEP gets you nowhere, if a part breaks and they can fix it for you they most likely will reguardless of insurance. Just don't get huffy with the guy behind the counter! If he's hard to work with there's a sprint store on more corners than Starbucks...try another one! As for losing the phone, that's tough, I bought my brother a used 8350i on ebay for under $150 because he didn't include any cables or box! If you wanna dump $7 a month I'll send you my address, if anything happens I'll replace it for $100!!!!!

It seams like a lot of people are doggin this phone and don't know what a resource this site is. They get frustrated and switch phones, so their 8350i ends up on ebay!

Why would you use DC less on a BB??? I don't get that one!

just for that point.... i had many people on DC, now i have 1
for the last few days i been thinking about moving to the 9630 when it comes out. everyone i know has gone elsewhere and the few "issues" (that we dont really need to bring up... AGAIN). - 06-11-2009, 03:46 PM #9
I either use text or BBM. Prior to the getting the 8350i it was a pain to text with the standard phone key pad. Now its a snap. Using DC everyone around me can hear what I say, using text or BBM no one knows.

I'm speechless....2 8350's down.....I assumed our moderator was Nextel to the core...the Niagra does look cool, but it would be hard to take that to work!

Too many busy bodies sit to close and I would rather not share even one side of the convo.

No need to share DC if we run and be free.
I do not have any plans on leaving anytime soon. That is unless the 9630 is way to cool to not have. - 06-11-2009, 04:27 PM #18
i have not left and i am thinking about..... the 9630 is not out yet.

its not a bad phone but 2 things turned me away from it....
1) battery life sucks
2) its not a BLACKBERRY - 06-11-2009, 04:35 PM #22
I would take a free one but never pay for it.
If it was free I would not get any ins. for it either. No reason to let it cost me more money. - 06-11-2009, 04:37 PM #23

Not my cup of tea. To each his own.
I m not a big fan of the slide up. To me it appears a bit fragile. I could be wrong.
I guess we better get back on topic.
If you are hard on past phones or BB's you better think hard about ins. If not roll the dice and make sure you have good protection for those just in case accidents.
