if your gonna use BB with direct connect then go with Boost, not worth it with Nextel. Everything is same(internet, coverage etc.) while BBM would be nice most people have a fav instant messenger they can use. Shangmail pushes my email to phone just as fast as it does to computer.

If not going to use BB with Sprint w/o DC then go with Boost

However in the case of price of loosing a email service the boost way is better than the other way.
$60 with tax included. I have the $69.99 plan with a 25% discount. With Boost you might be paying less, but you are also getting less. Remember the saying: You get what you pay for.

Holy Cow people, really?!?!? He said Boost...He said Nextel...he said Boost...he said Nextel...Does it matter? the thread was about BBM on Boost, not which Company was the best. Boost uses Nextel towers and services, it is a pay as u go service. With the correct SB 8350i on boost or Nextel are very similar in their respective functions, minus of course BBM, sending email attachments, and PIN messages. It is what the individual wants to use and pay for. Even the Moderator gets into the bickering( by the way Casper,

have to use third party apps to get online (no wifi)
Boost or Nextel, SB or no SB, the WIFI will work. Try a wipe handheld..manage connections...turn on WIFI and scan for your router).

i was actually considering boost. but i have 3 different email addys pushed to my BB. i don't wan't to use a browser to find my email. i could do that with an i880.

i guess that's another boost limitation.

Wow, someone needs to calm down. The only thing being said is that to use the 8350i as intended you need to be on Nextel w/ BIS (or Telus if you're in Canada) not some prepaid service. A lot of the apps do not work if you don't have it on the service its supposed to be on.

BTW, this thread was about BIS, not BBM.

It is about BIS not BBM, I mistyped and stand corrected(not afraid to admit when wrong). The facts remain. The 8350i is still a great alternative to all the other iden phones available, no matter which carrier you have. Also, I thought this website was here to help others, not put them down for the services, carrier, or phones the choose.

Amen to that. Too much flaming and animosity on both sides. I for one have learned and shared here because I would rather teach and be taught than to bicker and flame war.

Just remember it was the combined resources of NXTL and Boost users that brought us the combined3 work-around. Let's keep that spirit ongoing.

I personally think an 8350i on Boost is a viable option in today's economy. Many families and individuals are currently in a cash and credit crisis due to loss of job etc. Having a Blackberry phone for $50 a month would eliminate the need to pay for landline phone service as well as internet service for in home use. My family is on a budget and I need a cell that will allow me to quickly stay in contact with my job, my wife, my kids, and friends. Having the options to do that by phone, email, and text all on my hip is well worth $50 a month to me.
