Thanks for reminding me about the 8703e, I also forgot the 7130e.

The Sprint 8530, and 9650 can not be activated on Boost Mobile. The system does not allow these phones on because it can't identify a plan code for them. Boost has their own 9530 which of course will work on the Boost system.

I don't know about that Hightack, not trying to argue with you I have nothing but utmost respect for you(Have probably read most of your 500 posts lol on my quest to conquer the 8350i) but although I personally haven't put a Sprint 8530 or a 9650 on Boost yet I can tell you that the guy who I know says it can be done.

He advertises it. I haven't asked him about those specific Sprint phones and if he has done them, but I have with other Sprint phones(just about all of them can be put on Boost now. When I made my mistake on my previous post I had accidentally posted the entire list of phones that can be put on Boost for example the Evo, Epic, HTCTP2, and the Galaxy S to name a few. Then realized the OP asked for BB's only). I have dealt with this guy a lot(with a few Sprint cdma's) and never had a issue, like I said he has a website, I know he wouldn't advertise something he couldn't do. I will even contact him to confirm if he has actually done one of the above mentioned phones yet(the Sprint 8530,9650).

And btw you did mean 8530 right? (At first I was reading it thinking "Really the Storm1, now that I never heard of" lol but then realized you must of meant the Boost 8530.

Yeah, I meant the Boost 8530, hit,the wrong key. I'm sure that the Sprint 8530 and 9650 can be put on Boost, but not without modifying the ESN/MEID. Boost Mobile uses plan codes based on the ESN/MEID of the phone. Certain phone models can not be added to Boost because they require a plan code that is only available on the Sprint system and not to Boost. Maybe he has found a way around Sprint's block, but I would have to see it to believe it.

No your absolutely correct, finally had a chance to talk with him, he confirmed that in order to put the 9650 you need another Boost cdma 3g phone. He also mentioned that the 8530 can no longer be done because Boost came out with their own 8530.

That's one way you can certainly do it, also most of the guys who have websites (that flash phones to Boost) will give you the option to pay them a small fee for them to provide "the other phone's" info.

Is there somebody here that specializes in the transition? I'd rather just pay someone to knock it out for me

My friends, don't trust those guys at Boostberry.com. I paid them almos $200 to get an 8530 and a 9650 converted, but they could not do anything to the phones. And to make it worse, they do not issue refunds!
