I just finished setting up funambol yesterday. I settled on it by the process of elimination. I am syncing my office Outlook to my Nextel Blackberry. Gmail would not correctly sync with my Outlook Calendar. Yahoo Calendar cannot be synced to Blackberry OTA. AOL sync won't do Tasks. Funambol is working well now though I have chosen not use it for Contacts because the Direct Connect Numbers don't seem to sync well with any of these programs due to the field mapping. I like the sync scheduling option a lot and would recommend Funambol for Calendar and Tasks. Also finally got Sirius streaming to work via Orb and usrius. Very cool.

Did some reading on this app and if it works like it should it would be a very cool program for the 8350i!

Gordom: Since this is the 8350i forum, but they don't list an 8350i version of their client yet, I'll bite: what version did you grab?

Think I'm using the 8300 version but I don't think it matters much. All the downloads seem to be the same version. Have discovered it's not a good idea to try a sync other than while on a wi-fi connection.

Default Curve 8330 and Outlook - Funambol sync has issues

I have had a good four days testing out Funambol sync for my BB 8330 and two PC's running Outlook 2003.

    So far the worst seems:
    1) Calendar - old version of an event wiping out newer version (notes withing the meeting was the difference)

    2) Tasks - out of the blue, ALL of 100+ tasks (unchanged) decides something has changed so gets updated/sent to the Funambol server

Cannot seem to get any help over in forge.funambol.org

I installed Funambol on my 8350i, but I get the following error when I try run it:

Error starting Funambol_804_BlackBerry: Class 'net.rim.device.api.lcdui.BlackBerryCanvas' not found.

I'm using a Boost SIM btw.

EDIT: Had to register for the 90 Day Demo and use the app meant for the BB 8520 (the 8350i isn't listed). All works well. Is there a non 90 Day version that folks are using?

I've been looking for a way to sync the calendar on my BB with the calendar on my Wife's BB, wirelessly. I tried Google calendar and Sync, but it was a disaster. It didn't sync fast enough, took hours for something to show up on the other BB, and events were all screwed up, notifications did not get synced properly, recurring events were entered incorrectly, showing up as separate events, etc. I am really not sure if Funambol is what I'm looking for or not. Would this product be able to allow two phones to sync to the same calendar, instantly, without all the problems that Google had? Or should I be looking for a completely different solution? Neither of us are on a BES, only BIS, via AT&T. Thanks!
