Default 8350i Radio is Dead...?

I've searched and searched and only answer seems to be a new phone...

Have an 8350i that will NOT allow me to turn the radio portion on.. I can use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but when I try to restore radio conection, Nothing..

Here's some what has been tried:

1. Complete, scary system wipe (Error 507)
2. Downgraded to 4.6.1.313
3. Used Security wipe
4. Master Radio Reest ( I get the message Radio reset failed!)
5. Tried Nextel SIM and 2 different Boost SIM cards
One note here: This unit when checking the SIM says:
SIM Card: No valid SIM Card
"Unknown number"

On this unit when you click the menu button under SIM Card it gives the option Unblock SIM Card PIN whereas my other working unit has "Enable Security"

6. I have entered the PUK code when it ask to Unlock the card and it allows me to attempt to enter a new PIN for the SIM Card. After entering PIN then confirming PIN, gives the error "Unable to change PIN".

7. Using Blackberry Master Control progam I have tried the "Turn Radio On" with no results.

8. Have attempted to use CrackUtil and remove ANY file (then restore) that had Smartcard, Security, ect. in it and there is no change.

9. I have had units that weren't "Recognized" by the phone service and could do a self PING and the service would find the unit and activate. On this unit, it will not self PING and says "Invalid APN".

10. Used Diagnostic tools and it attempts to tunr radio on but can't.

Other items are
Firewall is disabled.
IT Policy shows as diabled.
Mobile network shows *NONE*. I have had them show Nextel and *10316* (Self PING clears up the *10316* problem.

Anyone has ANY LUCK with this problem or have any ideas?

What do you mean by radio? Direct Connect? Data? Cell phone?

What were you doing when this happened?

Are you on a BES?

started with the 507 error and since I've been able to load 5.0 os back on but if I check remove and reinstall radio configurations during os install it will error out with "A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.

Unable to communicate with the radio hardware. Please ensure that a charged battery is installed in the device and try the loading operation again. [P:0x00000022]"

If I leave it uncheck it will install fine....I've tried installing every version through various programs with no success. Cant get the radio "wireless connetion" going again. "(

You need a new phone.

I uploaded the 5 OS. It took several tries as I got a bunch of error messages. When it was done, all my data was there but I lost the connection to the BES and also lost the data connection. The phone/DC/wi-fi all worked.

IT could not get the connection to the BES restored nor get the data working. I'm not sure what they tried but the person doing this is a genius when it comes to the BB. They told me to get another phone.

This was a work phone and I got spanked for trying this.

AngryCow, you are either the same person that I have been trying to help get their radio back on, out here in the capital, or you eerily have tried everything he has, and I could think of to try. I'm calling him today to tell him it's hopeless as well and to give up on it. I have scoured the web and more importantly the Crackberry site pretty thoroughly but to no avail. Everyone says the same thing, after you have tried everything you have, that it's most likely a hardware issue, and is not fixable.

If you do ever figure it out though, please update this thread on how you ended up getting it back on. Thanks.
