Default 8350i boost DC irritation, must scroll to reply

I'm setting up several 8350i boostberries, have everything working. When we receive a DC alert though, screen shows Direct Connect, In Use, and caller's name - pushing the DC button right away beeps that person back, normally. But, if you let 5 seconds go by without responding, In Use changes to Ended, few seconds later (or when you push DC button AFTER Ended appears) screen changes to Recent Calls with the cursor on the top (blank) line. The caller's name is on the next line down. Pushing the DC button does nothing until you scroll down to the callers name, then it beeps that person. My office manager's 8350i is still on Nextel, works different - jumps to the recent call screen but has no top blank line, cursor lands ON the last caller's name, so just pushing the DC button always calls that person back with no extra steps (the old normal, like with our previous flip handsets).

Seems like a small thing but it's very irritating, not to mention unsafe while driving (have to eyeball the screen and operate the scroll function). I can't find a setting to either eliminate the blank line in Recent Calls or increase the In Use time. I have the Manager software (did the boost hack service book thing), maybe there's a way in there? Using v5.0.0.807 . . . any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Well I was going to ask what the OS was, you might wanna think about going back to 4.6.1.313, I'm positive you don't have this problem on it. Is your office managers 8350i on 4.6? I never upgraded to 5.0, so it might be a OS thing.

Otherwise, I wanted to basically share my experience with DC on my Boost 8350i. It was basically nothing but problems, in the middle of talking back and forth on DC, all of a sudden the screen would show that you were connected as if holding down the PTT button. But you wouldn't be, and no matter what you did, pressing end or any other button, would do nothing. You would either have to do a battery pull or just wait for it to go back to the home screen(which might take a min or two). This happened quite often while using DC. It got to the point where I stopped using the DC. So don't be surprised if you have some issues with it.

83fifty is right on with it being your OS. With 4.6 your last contact will stay at the top but with 5.0 it's blank, and you have to scroll to the contact. It's a minor inconvenience but since upgrading to 5.0 I don't see any other issue with DC, no freezing ect..

lol Your right Crump84, I probably should of added that those problems I had with DC were on the 4.6 os. Good to hear they fixed them.

I'm having the same issue with Mex-nextel.
I REALLY love the new os's speed, but that scroll-to talk sh1t makes me crazy.

How come no one else is complaining about it?
Nobody else has this problem, or they just don't mind (heh? how could you not mind?)

Greetings from the warm mx land, and happy turkey eating!

If I had to guess it's b/c less and less people are using the direct connect function. That or people are so happy to finally have a 5.0 os on their 8350i, that they don't really mind that relatively small issue. I only knew one other person who used direct connect, and I dropped off to the 8330, so I'm one less person
