Default Wireless, two-way, push calendar sync?

Okay, I've been trying to figure this out all week and I am just so desperate, I don't know what else to do!

My boss has a Blackberry curve and we use Microsoft Exchange 2003 for our mail/calendar/contacts. He wants to be able to have wireless, two-way, push syncing for his calendar and contacts on his phone.

First, he said I could move our calendar and contacts to Google and sync that way since Microsoft Exchange said they don't support wireless syncing to public folders (shared calendars). I did, but there is no way to have it automatically sync more frequently than every 2 hours, which is too much of a lag, and he does not want to have to manually sync every time he makes a change from his Blackberry.

So then I tried to set up Google Business Apps, but they do not have customer support for Blackberry, and the set-up was beyond what we need with our Exchange server.

Then I tried to see if I could link things using Blackberry Enterprise Server Express to EITHER connect to the Google calendar or connect to Microsoft Exchange, but I was in so far over my head that I couldn't even get it to install.

HELP! Is it possible to have wireless, two-way, automatic push syncing to a Blackberry calendar??

ANY help that anyone can provide would be SO appreciated!

Yes. You'll have to dive into BESX.

    From the data sheet:
    Wireless synchronization
With the Enterprise Activation app, IBM Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange email, calendars, contacts and more are automatically synced to BlackBerry smartphones without connecting to a computer.

You'll need the enterprise activation app to get it going.

I use regular BES, not X, but the concept is the same. i never use DM, everything is push-synced to my phone (calendar, email, tasks, contacts, notes).

Sorry, because these, I'm sure, are dumb questions. But first, what is DM? And second, how does the enterprise activation app work?

I would love to be able to use BES Express as a cog in this machine, but I can't seem to get it to install. The setup process is extremely complicated and when I get to the very end of it, it says the domain is invalid. Any hints about easy setup for BES Express?

Sorry DM is desktop manager. Many people use it to sync their info with their phones from outlook. i never use it.

As for the installation, I've never run though it, so not sure what to tell you. I just know if works when installed.

i would test it, but i don't have a mail server to play with.

You can always try and use AstraSync. AstraSync performs two-way over the air sync of email calendar and contact data with all Exchange ActiveSync compatible servers including Microsoft Exchange in your case.

    Calendar sync...possible solution

Please understand this may not be exactly what you're looking but:

Here's what I discovered, give it a shot. it's a working workaround, sorry it's not perfect, but you don't have to deal with millions of duplicates when you attempt to sync your Google Sync with the BB calendar app.

    Do this:
Sign in to your Google account using BB's web browser. Then access the Calendar feature from a WEB PAGE. Do NOT use the BB Calendar application that's built into the memory. Google's mobile Calendar page will show you an agenda and a Quick Add space where you can add new events to your calendar WITHOUT EVER USING THE BB CALENDAR APP. It will sync to your Google calendar, and the only difference is, you bookmark in your Web favorites to access your calendar app. With BB's push browser, you'll stay as synced as you possibly can in real time, AND YOU ONLY HAVE TO INPUT AN APPOINTMENT ONCE FOR IT TO STICK. And best of all, NO DUPES!

Sorry if I am on the late freight, but hey, it took me a few weeks on my new BB 9360 Curve to get it to work this way. Hope it helps!

One more thing...make sure you hide the BB calendar so you don't accidentally access it instead of the web.

Update: I've using this procedure since I first posted on 4/10/12 with NO PROBLEMS...NONE!!!
