VOIP with Blackberry

Hi I've been spending some time looking for an easy solution VOIP for Blackberry.

2 years ago my other half was out of the country working for a month and we very easily kept in touch for free using our Nokia 95's with Fring(TM) installed together with her hotels and my Wifi Connection.

Times have moved on and we have both changed our handsets to BB93003G's but I cant find a simple solution, now she is going away again next month, to do the same.

Is there an app out there that someone could recommend?

there is no voip app readily available for blackberry.

but here is a semi work around. voice notes over bbm.
