Yep, I don't think there will be any updates for phones running 6.xxx and 7.xxx . I believe all the resources are now on BB10.

I highly doubt that they will release another OS for the 9300, but you can always check out the Hybrid OS forums, Personally i found B@stard - Aikido to run best on my 9300 before it died.

I never understood the Hybrid OS story. What would the advantage of it be over the RIM released OS?

Depending on which mix you choose, it generally results in better battery life, more responsive browser, more responsive OS in general, less memory leak, which means less battery pulls.

So far the best I've used is "B@stard - Aikido" which produced 2-3 day battery life, and minimal memory leak(unless bridged)

I would honestly recommend it, on my 9300(pre-9700) stock just wasn't the same
