Low memory issues
Hello... My blackberry is brand new, i have had it for almost 1 month and a half. The only spplications that i do have installed are shazam, hookt, whatsapp, and windows live messenger apart from bbm and the core apps... My blackberry is displaying that i have low memory (3mb) left, and its not rit because i do not have any music or video or pictures.... Why is this happening????
When had my 8520 i had the same suff installed and more than 200+ pictures saved on my bb memory and i had plenty of memory left...
Thanks in advance. - 10-11-2012, 11:53 AM #2
Re: Low memory issues
This is a chronic problem with BlackBerry OS that has existed since OS 6 (possibly OS 5, under the right circumstances). The longer the phone has been running, the more the "Application Memory" (or "File Free", depending on where you see it displayed) will get consumed by who-knows-what. The solution is to do a battery pull to reboot your phone once in a while.

Re: Low memory issues
I have tried this multiple times and it does not work.... I habe also deleted the browsers cache files and all of those consuming little memories...
Is there alternative solutions? - 10-15-2012, 09:36 AM #4
Re: Low memory issues
connect to BBDM, and make sure you have removed all the extra languages. That was the thing that took most of the memory from mine.

Re: Low memory issues
Ok so i did that and i saw i did not have all the languages installed, just a couple of them... idk they did not take up a lot of memory but then when i checked my free memory and it was boosted from 3Mb to 22Mb

Re: Low memory issues
Maybe try to "enable compression" in your storage.

Re: Low memory issues
try deleting text messages and changing the settings of how long messages stay on your BB. When i went through my entire text history and deleted old texts that i didn't need to refer to, my application memory increased (after a restart too). Also clearing the logs help a bit too (go to home screen then press ALT and LGLG)

Re: Low memory issues
my guess you using OS6 on your 9300
with same memory amount like gemini but filled with OS6 takes a lot of space
so in my case, I shrink my OS, and right now, with OS + full apps , I got 85 mb memory space
