Upgraded ota. No problems installing. Seems pretty smoothe so far. No idea what's changed/fixed yet though. My trackpad seems more responsive and it doesn't seem as laggy (for now). But that may not have anything to do with the os. BB just seems to be working better.

If running an OTA upgrade, they merely strip out the code they're ditching and patch in the new code. It isn't a full OS, it just brings your OS up to the changes needed. This is why updates done wirelessly must start with the last official carrier OS.
One new feature I seem to have gained is a 'plug' icon superimposed on the battery icon when charging is complete and I'm still plugged in.

Does that also work for my Verizon phone as well?
I have a Blackberry 9330 Curve 3G.
Please let me know?

+1 one on the battery mine is lasting longer as well.
The default browser now has the most visited pages for fast access like Opera mini does and seems to load faster.
Overall it seems to run smoother and the track pad definitely is improved in function and accuracy.
I am not at all happy with the fact it ate up 40MB of my memory though.
(Did OTA update the download was 26.4 MB. Installed it ate 40MB of my memory.) - 04-23-2011, 03:40 PM #18
I upgraded, and here's something I don't remember seeing before -
When you push the talk button, you see your recent calls (which happened before). Now, next to the box where you can search/type a number, there is a button that switches between your contacts and the call log. - 04-23-2011, 05:32 PM #19
Things I've noticed so far: better battery life, when you save a pic the look of the Save screen is slightyly different (I'm pretty sure. I could be imagining things. Lol), when you open the browser it now shows thumbnails of your Bookmarks and History pages instead of just having a list of those things. But if you liked the list better then you can always change it back in the options. Now I don't know if the trackpad problem (at least mine) had anything to with the os but I was able to lower the sensitivity and it works better. Where before I had it up to 80 and it was still jumpy. When I updated, 80 just seemed like too much but it wasn't as jumpy anymore. My signal doesn't jump around like it used to. At my grandparents house it was always losing signal and it was just lousy. My grandparents have Sprint and their phones weren't doing that so I knew it was mine. At my grandparents' house now and the signal hasn't dropped once and it's been full signal. So I'm hoping the os fixed my radio problem. My BB is also less laggy. All in all I like this update.

For anyone who was using .524 before this and has switched down to .522 (including BDHP 7 users), which did you find to run more smoothly? I'm currently using .524 (non hybrid - was using .524 as a base for BDHP 7).
I love my father-in-law. He switched to an Android phone on AT&T and gave me his barely used VZW Bold 9650.

i was going to upgrade to .524 which is what made me look around for new hybrids (was using scags v2 6.1 i think)
thats how i came across bdhp 7 and then .522 official was dropped
i just went with .522 for the **** of it. everything seems great for the most part.
does anyone notice a little lag sometimes when clicking the drop down notification bar?
i dont know if its the os or the hybrid that maybe causing this...only happens to me once or twice a day tho
and my memory cleaner has less options in it now - 04-24-2011, 03:16 AM #25
Is it just me or is the internet very slow anf laggy after the update? My internet is very bad, I'm thinking about downgrading.... Is it just more or do others have problems with the internet
