I need some opinions on the Curve 9300!
Hey guys,
I really need some answers regarding a question that has been bugging me a bit. Is the Curve 9300 obsolete/outdated? I've been thinking because the 8520 back in its day was a good - great BlackBerry (for some if not all). Now, is the 9300 like the 8520? By today's standards IMO the 9300 has sunk to a low. I use a 9300 and kinda feel a bit weird using it as I am surrounded by the usual 9900s and Galaxies and iPhones, and it gets me pondering a bit, and I appreciate if you guys can give some input about the 9300 by today's standards. Thanks!

Well I don't know about the rest of the world but in my lil' corner of the UK most of the phones are low spec smartphones like Curve 9300 and HTC Wildfire- in fact I see more Curves then Hugh Hefner! About 70/80% of the customers I see in store, and the people I see in the street have Blackberry and most are humble Curve 9300's.

My wife just traded her loved 9300 when the trackpad failed. The phone was a good one and served very, very well. The 9900 that replaced that phone is not yet so much appreciated by the user but maybe some day... For my money the 9300 is and will continue to be a fine phone for many users. Nothing about that one over which to be embarrassed.

I don`t know what part of the world your in but if you can upgrade to a 9700 or 9780 you wont regret it...
I had the 9300 for about 2 weeks till i saw the 9700 and got rid of the 9300 pretty fast but then again the 9700 did not last long till i saw the 9780.
all gone now a proud owner of a 9790 now great device...

I don't think its outdated, it does everything I need to do and most apps still support os6. You won't be getting Wikitude though because it does not support the 9300 series.

My only problem with it is how slow it can be. I hate how when I click something I have to wait for something to load or open.

Been using my 9300 for over a year now. It's very reliable and sturdy. If you do have a choice, try to get one of those newer models. Probably 9360, 9780, 9380, 9320 or better yet a 9790 (IMHO better than 9900).

The 9300 is in my opinion is a legend, in that it was affordable due lower screen resolution than 9700, but both used the same processor. It was 3G ready with built in GPS just like 9700. It has all necessary technology....if u chose the 9800 (torch1) or 9700 just becaues they were "up market" phones and neglected the 9300 is foolishness because under the hood its same phone. Just cosmetic changes between the 3. The CURVE 3G (9300) is a severly underestimated device.

I still see a lot of 9930s around, but yes as specs go, it isn't quite up there with the newer BB's and competition. Just be sure to delete browsing history, memory clean, delete call logs, txts, etc to keep it running smoothly. It still is a solid device though. I would use one.

I have no issues with freezes or slowness, because I run Wu-Wei's B@stard hybrid(latest available version) and it's amazing. Tripled battery life, no freezing whatsoever, fast battery pulls. Definitely worth looking into if you're like me with the 9300

i had my Curve for a little under a year. It's been a great year! It's efficient, reliable, and does what it needs to do! Mines been thrown against a brick wall and a car and it still looks and works like new!
Updated to .723 and mine runs flawlessly and for some reason, a tad bit faster than my 9780! A very underestimated reliable, spectacular device! I'm considering going back from my Bold 9780.
Just a legendary affordable BlackBerry!

I used the 9300 before, it wasn't bad but you just had to monitor the resources. if you left a lot of background processes running it tended to be slow. You could say why should I have to put up with that, but the system specs are listed everywhere. Users should be responsible for buying hardware that meets their needs. Its a good device for emailing/bbm/some browsing and other communicating aspects though!
thanks

Coincidentally, due to some unfortunate events with my Bold, I have to return to my back up device, the Curve 9300!
I downgraded to OS 5 because I feel OS 5 gets the job done faster (except for browsing). All I want to do is replace the housing and then I'll be abusing this sucker until BB10 arrives!

I use the Curve 9300 and a lot of people are shocked at the way it performs and also the way that it looks. I keep good cases on my phones so they are rarely seen naked. If you take care of your phone, it will do you well. And remember, we have blackberry's! These are laptops in the palm of our hands. Use them well....
