Default help updating OS on 9330

This is a problem I created. I bought a used 9330. I have not activated it yet. It had 6.0.0.431 on it. I need to be able to turn off mobile data but not WiFi or phone before I decide to activate it on my PagePlus account. Before I searched for the answer, I decided to upgrade to 6.0.0.524. That went fine. But that didn't solve the problem. I find that OS7 will do what I want but I can't load that on a 9330, so I decided to try downgrading to OS5. That went fine. But that doesn't give me what I want either. After a few searches and posting a question I find I can't make a 9330 work that way period. OK, put it back to 6.0.0.524 and sell it. ALAS, I can't do that now as it tells me I need to have a valid BB account to updrade to OS6.

HOW do I get this back to 6.0.0.524??????????

    thx

Assuming you have BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on a PC or Mac:

Download the version of the OS you want from your carriers website (linked from RIM's site > Support). Install that OS into Windows/Mac OS.

Wipe the phone from within its security settings.

Update the OS using Desktop Manager.

that is what I did - I keep getting the message that I need a valid Blackberry account to update. Apparently it is an issue of going from 5 to 6 since the update within 6 that I did worked fine.

I restored the system to get rid of all BB sw - it kept telling me the loader was still running but I saw nothing in task manager.

I reloaded 524 and ran it. I still get this msg

This BlackBerry® Device Software upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements to the BlackBerry® solution and, as such, is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription. I do not have a BB account, I have never activated this on my phone. I just want to get it back to where it was when I bought it used.
