Blackberry texts recover! urgent

So my blackberry had some water spilled onto the mother board and it was perfectly fine except for the track pad. It then was dropped from a pretty high height and ended up getting the screen cracked pretty bad making it unusable. The text messages on the phone are really important and i need them. I'm just looking for a way to get all the information that was on the phone off onto my computer or so i can read them again and write down the information. The guy who i gave my phone in for repairs says the water damage ruined the track pad and the mother board, but when i was using it before it was dropped i was able to read everything. Please any help is greatly appreciated

Does Desktop Manager recognize the phone when you hook it up to the computer?
Have you backed it up with Desktop Manager or BlackBerry Protect recently?

If No to these, then you're SOL...

when i plugged it in when the trackpad was the only thing wrong all the information came up on the computer , and when the screen was smashed it still turned on, so im assuming all the information is still there right?. To be honest i only need the texts. I just downloaded Blackberry DM and am hoping when i get it back the phone will still turn on. The guy who is repairing the phone is replacing the mother board with an older one and hes going to see if he can get the information off.

Well if you can get a recent backup file, then install "MagicBerry" on your computer (Google it, pretty sure it's free). It will extract the contents of the ipd file(backup file) so you can actually view what's in it.

Love it how phone repair shop guys chat bubbles at how the motherboard is damaged when you, yourself clearly know your phone works perfectly fine. Hmmm God help them!
