Am i mad?
Having had my playbook 16g since chistmas i decided that when my mobile upgrade came round i would get a bb phone too so i got the 9900 bold. Thing was i just couldn't get used to the bulky design compared to my previous handset ( sony Ericsson x10 mini) so i swapped the bold for a curve 3g. So far i really like the curve and find it much more comfortable to use am i mad and will i regret it???????????

A phone is a personal choice. If you find the Curve is better for you, great!
I believe the Bold has more functions, but if you're not physically comfortable with it, then the Curve is pretty good too.
The only thing I would ask, as I'm out of contract too, how come you didn't wait for BB10?

How long did you have the Bold for ?
EDIT: To answer your question, you are mad despite its a personal preference.

No not a straight swap, but i mean i changed from a bold to a curve, had the bold for three weeks

Im a tad impulsive and bb10 could be forever away and then it will be really buggy and wot not till rim irons it all out.
