Does anyone think it's possible that we will see a blackberry smartwatch in the near future? What features would you want it to have?
I personally would love to see something similar to the lock screen with the same style of notifications. Also would love to see an led notification and similar watch app as the current BB10 one. Maybe possibly a camera or is that too much? Let me know what you think!

I don't think Blackberry should put out a smart watch, at least not yet. I think they need to worry about getting their phones sales up. After they get that going, then they could put some attention to other things.

IF BlackBerry was to ever come out with a smartwatch, I wouldn't want it to have a camera. But I would definitely want it to have a vibrate option for notifications.

I don't think Blackberry can afford to be distracted by other gadget trends. They need to sort out the failings in their core product first - the stalling sales of their mobile phones (both bbos and bb10, even though bbos is doing marginally better). They simply cant make other devices right now.
That said a blackberry smartwatch would be quite a cool idea, would like to see a black pvd metal strapped square watch with data. No camera though. Cant see how one can find that ergonomic. Love the idea of a vibrate function, for notifications.

Something like this?
*Beta* Allerta inPulse Smartwatch for BlackBerry Shows Up On Video (and yes, of course CrackBerry has one too) | CrackBerry.com
They are now called Pebble BTW and they abandoned blackberry!
Fortunately the BB developer community has stepped up to the plate....

I think it would carry the stigma of the old BlackBerry "spinning clock of death" icon... Ugh, it gives me the shivers just thinking about it!
Jokes aside though, I don't know if a BlackBerry smartwatch would be perceived well, except in places where BlackBerry has a better image (of course). For example, it would probably be a flop in the U.S. unless they come out with something truly innovative.

Not a chance. This is the ultimate consumer-focused mobile play in which the giants in mobile look to expand their ecosystem of devices. Blackberry is no longer in this game. Samsung, Apple, Nokia, Microsoft, Sony, etc. do their product launches in an auditorium with live streaming. Blackberry now does their product launches in a conference room.

That's true, BlackBerry needs to focus on what's happening now. There are many things they need to work on. I don't think they should jump start on watches. At least not just yet. OS10 is still so fresh and must address all the necessary changes. Transition takes time..
