    Give it a few hours... maybe it will start working.

    Delete the account, reboot, and recreate it.

    Using a web browser may sure that two-step verification is disabled on your account.

    Yahoo mail stopped working today.
    Already allowed "less secure apps", and confirmed "2-step verification" is not enabled. It still doesn't let me add back yahoo mail, any other tricks to try???

    Remove the account and then add it back but leave the "your name" field empty. I had the same issue and after some experimentation I was finally able to solve the problem.
