This question bothers me every time I get a new device. What's the first thing I am supposed to to? I have just got my classic. I have unboxed it and I am not sure whether I must put it to charge first, switch it on and start playing with it straightaway, or wait for my nano sim to arrive tomorrow evening and only after I have installed it in the phone I should set it up.

    This is what I do.
-Charge it to at least 75 percent or more.
-Go through the setup and add WiFi connection.
-Set up your primary email and sync your contacts or calendars. Or import them.
-download your favorite apps from bbw or amazon.
    -login to those apps
    -rearrange your icons
-map shortcut keys to apps or contacts.
-open up browser and make sure google is the default search service.
-go to your favorite sites and create bookmarks for them.

    Optional stuff
-download snap or google play and download any apps you couldn't get with bbw or amazon.
-install the latest leak and play with it.

When you nano sim comes in just install it and you're good to go with receiving and making calls.

The first thing I am doing in the morning is ordering a BlackBerry OEM leather pouch for mine.
