OP I think it would have been a cool visual feature....

I imagine there was a process in making the decision not to keep a lighted trackpad... most likely just simply the cost vs benefits.

Probably true, but we all know the Classic hardware is a little overpriced, regarding the specs, so you might as well add a proper trackpad. I can't imagine it raising production costs significantly.

As I mentioned in another thread:

No trackpad light is one less reason for a Q10-user to buy the Classic.

Already few reasons to switch from Q10 to Classic.

have you tried the phone? Have you seen it been used? Have you seen it compared to the Q10? Is the answer to any of those questions yes?

If this had been an Apple device, it would be a no-brainer update for users. Other than the CPU compared to the Q10, it's like an "off year" iPhone release, like 3G to 3GS, or 4 to 4S, or 5 to 5S. The selling point would be the OS upgrade.
Maybe they should call it the Q10(S)

Wow, I totally agree and did not see this post, but mentioned it just the other day, http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...-four-1008316/, so there is no doubt as to the necessity for those of us who work both day & night!
