So, in another thread it was said that the Classic supposedly is stated to support both standards. Can anyone confirm this? If so, another question is does it heat up the phone during charging?

    Thanks.

I'm using it with my Qi charger which I had for my Android tablet. Works well!!

The phone gets a little warm, but nothing to complain about.

So there I am....getting my Classic in the first week of release here in Frankfurt, and BlackBerry is thanking me by including wireless charging just 3 months later.

Thanks man, how does it compare to the warmth of regular charging? About the same or a bit hotter? Do you leave it on charge overnight and it automatically stops charging when it's full?

Yep. I do the same as MGO. Leave it over night. Feels normal (cool) in the morning.

I actually have not charged it regularly. Out of the box I put it on the Qi to test. And since it worked, that's all I've been using.

It might be warmer than a regular charge, but like I said before, it's not super hot to the point that I'm worried.

I love the convenience of just throwing it on the charger!

If that's the case, and a qi mat does work, can anyone recommend one qi pad over another before I buy the Classic?

Apparently the documentation lists both Qi and PMA, and a few people have already confirmed that it does indeed work on Qi mats. So that's kind of cool since there are more choices for that.

Does anyone with an ATT Classic have app http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/26732872 or similar to definitively determine the model number if is it the -2 or -4 SQC100?

Under Settings>About, it shows that it is the SQC100-2.

All the Nokia Qi chargers look nice and work well. DT-900 pad, DT-910 stand, Nokia DT-901 pillow. They used to be available in the AT&T stores before they decided to go to PMA but you can still find them online at Amazon/Ebay etc.

My current favorite is the CHOE Stadium Qi Wireless Charger 3-Coils . What I like about this one is that the multi-coil makes proper placement less of a concern you just lay it down anywhere on it and it charges. The downside is it doesn't come with a wall plug, they expect you to use the one that comes with the phone or another spare.

Yes! Please let us know if that works. I would love to be able to add wireless charging to my -4.

Isn't the back glued on now? I thought it wasn't removable, with a non-removable battery.

I'm pretty sure I saw in a teardown video that the backplate is attached by screws and clips.

Can't remove the backplate. There's no removable battery.

I'm using: PowerBot PB1020 Qi Enabled Wireless Charger

It's $13.99 on Amazon. I bought this last year for charging my Android tablet. When I heard the ATT Classic had wireless charging, I got home and put the phone on the powerbot. Works perfectly.

That's actually too bad they didn't include this feature in the standard model. I would have loved to use my Tylt to charge my Classic.

I like the Tylt, would make a great nightstand stand. Do you recommend it? I have a Passport on the way from AT&T
