Here's a useful tip - go through all the apps that come with the phone and remove / delete them if you don't plan on using them. Then for the remaining apps, go to the security settings and turn off as many of the permissions as you can.

These two things will really help a lot to conserve your battery life.

Personally, I have my BlackBerry stripped down to a bare minimum communications device which is what I want and need. Otherwise the battery gets nickel and dimed on stuff that you don't even need. It's like a death by a thousand cuts, but it does take its toll.

    I hope this helps!

Search for Cobalts thread of putting the play app store on your Classic. It gives you access to almost all of the android app store. Other than that, just enjoy it! It's a great phone!

Congratulations on your new BlackBerry Classic.... go through the tutorials and install the CB app from BlackBerry world first. Search for any issues that you may need clarification on. If it's not there use the forums to raise a question. I am sure you will get some good suggestions and don't be afraid of the banter here. It's all in good fun.

Cheers and have an awesome time with your Classic

Turn off BlackBerry Link and BlackBerry Blend to extend the battery life. If you like playing games with the keyboard like me, make sure you sideload RetroArch. Makes me want no other BlackBerry or Android games.

    Have fun with your classic.

Turn of the 'advanced' interactions which come preloaded active.
At least if you don't use them.
They use battery and don't work that well over here...

Also, take a look around for an good, beautifull wallpaper.
For me that changes the look of the phone a lot.

Turn of diagnostics, device connections if you don't use it.
    Also saves battery...

If you have a data plan, enter the amount of data you have with the refresh date in the 'build in' data monitor.
This perfectly shows how much data u use and gives you a good view of your data usage.

So far so good. The only mistake I've made so far is to try and charge my Classic with anything cord other than the one that comes with it. It doesn't like that at all, and it charges so slow with the other cords.

A good premium charging cord is key. I suggest getting a couple extra (keep at work, car and bag).
