I'm literally shocked to see the bad quality materials used in classic as my 4 months old classic which I bought with so much love is suffering from peeling off silver finish around edges of track pad and also I'm very unhappy to see the paint chip off on bottom part of the bezel.

Worst thing is all this is happening in spite of utter most care I've taken in maintaining my classic.

BlackBerry should definitely keep an eye on quality of materials used and on quality control!!

That's odd. Do you mind posting a picture. I have had several Blackberry devices with a track pad and never experienced this.

I don't want to say this but it could be the sticker? Just saying.

I remember back in the days of the 8300 series, the track ball would peel but that was from very excessive use

From the flaking around the trackpad of the Classic to the the lost (and rusting?) bullets of the Passport's BlackBerry logo, the lack of love and quality in BlackBerry hardware has never been so blatantly minimal... Starting to feel less like BlackBerry and more like Dollar General... Foxconn partnership will only exacerbate this in the future...

I have had the Classic since December. No quality control problems. The little DT I get, I don't know if it is from typing to fast and pressing a key harder than the rest.

I dropped this phone 10+ times during the first 3 months and slammed it in the car door once.

Using a Surface case with a glass screen protector.

The quality is definitely not as good as the 9900, but I also paid $200 more for the 99 four plus years ago. I think bringing the phone in under $500 was a better decision than a $700 phone.

Or maybe they should have just re-issued the 99 and built a high end device? We will never know.

Overall I can put up with some defects as it is still better than battery pulls because I'm out of RAM.

Out of 2gb of RAM I have 1.48gb available.

    Edit: add pic
