    go to settings
on the "wireless & networks", tap "more"
    tap on "mobile networks"
on "preferred network type", force it to "LTE/4G" only or "LTE/3G" or "LTE/WCDMA"

why yours is getting GSM whenever you're calling is that perhaps the location where you are based might have some 3G quality issues so you can't log on to the 3G network whenever you make voice calls, hence the only way is, you have to lock the network manually so while no calls, your phone will look for LTE, when you receive or make calls, it will select and hang on to 3G/4G (HSPA) until you've finished the call. easy.. and it also contributes to a better battery consumption though as your phone doesn't have to "travel" across 3 different networks randomly all the time (GSM/3G/LTE) but you just "force" it to only "look" for LTE or 3G.

    give it a go.
