I've tried an otterbox defender and incipio dual-pro. I was wondering putting the case/scrren protector on and taking it off could compromise the phones "structural integrity"

if you are putting a screen protector on your device, i would leave that be. There is no need to remove it unless it cracks (like my tempered glass one did).

As for a case....you have to watch how you remove them. You could be damaging the phone.
