Wondering if buying a Classic is a good idea if I want it to be in use for 3+ years. Has Blackberry commited to providing updates for any period of time?

Is it likely BB10 will continue to be developed past the announced 10.3.3 or will they shift focus to Android?

    edit: they've announced there'll be a 10.3.4, see below

The last major update is going to be in March 2016 as known so far. After that there is no information known.

Yes, but are there plans in place to update the current Android runtime on BlackBerry 10?

Noodling around CrackBerry website forums I am sad to say I have discovered no evidence of intention to upgrade the android runtime in existence, which angers me no end. For this alone I declare openly "Blackberry is a disgrace" in the sense that they would put their existing customers last.

    Flash backs of BB7

Why worry we are still using BB7.1 on the Legacy devices.

Be selective when upgrading your OS in the future. Take the auto update off and do not upload leaks with no Android Run Time.

I for one can get along without Run Time I will just use the browser for bank apps.

You haven't learned anything from HP haven't you. Companies don't give a flying crap about anyone except for shareholders.

    10.3.3 won't be a major update.
10.3.4 will be coming, too. We just don't know when.

If the first bb10 devices are still getting updates, I'm sure the classic will keep getting them

Actually learned quite a bit from HP...

HP doesn't give a second thought for its customers, nor does it care a whit about its stockholders given the money wasted on the Palm/webOS debacle.

I also learned Meg is a dope, Carly too.

Many a fine developer learned some tough lessons too, I am afraid.

The bb10 crowd is getting a harsh lesson too.
