Thanks for all the pointers everyone, nothings working though so it's going back. Totally baffled by it, my Q10 takes anything you can throw at it yet the Classic absolutely refuses to read the card regardless of how it's formatted or the capacity. Hopefully a replacement device will fix it, there's no way I can keep a device without a working SD card slot.

Fingers crossed! The problem now is I keep reaching for the non-existent trackpad and back key on my Q10. Had it nearly two years and one day with the Classic ruins my ability to function without it. Other than the specs issue (let's not get into that again) it really is a great device.

Good luck. I hope the replacement device accepts the San Disk.

Didn't the OP start this with a smaller card?

FWIW, I inserted a Sony 16GB card into my Classic earlier today and it was not recognized. I reformatted the card while it was in the phone and now it's working fine. Just a thought. I'm running 10.3.1.747.

He's tried that already, even included a screenshot of the error that happens when he does.

Yes I saw that. Suggesting a Sony card might work for OP.

My sandisk extreme plus 64g works perfectly. Maybe you format it to exfat than fat32 will help your problem

O2 are sending me a replacement handset tomorrow. I've tried every file format possible on both my SanDisk 128gb card and Samsung 32gb card and the Classic doesn't pick it up, can't format it on the phone as it fails the operation halfway through (when it gets that far) and the card ends up being 0mb. Also the Q10 and my laptop read both cards regardless so I know it's not an issue with them. Hopefully the new one will fix it, pretty sure it's a driver issue but reloading the OS (twice) didn't fix it.

This was the issue... you have to format your card on the PC as exFAT or else it won't accept it...

My card was on FAT32 and it wouldn't accept it...

Was coming up with the same error as in the first post...

After you have formatted in the PC as exFAT, then slip it in the phone... First It didn't recognized it, then just choose to press format media card (via the phone) .. then it works as a charm...

Hope you all didn't given up ( i was nearly but google saved my phone )

If your SD card is larger than 32GB you need to format via exFat otherwise most devices will not read it. good luck

I bought a new SanDisk 64gb and without formatting it whatsoever - popped it into my phone and it recognized it and was usable. I still formatted it anyways.

I've the same configuration as you, but with me it isn't working. The BB says it can't download the correct driver. When checking manuals it say the card needs to be formatted in FAT32. But Windows 7 does not allow me to do that. Only exFAT or NTFS is possible. So I stayed with exFAT, which is the standard for the samsungcard.

How did you get it to work? I'm using the latest version of BB10.

    Greetings Jeroen
