    Am I missing something or did they change the trackpad function on excel to go?

    I can't use it to navigate the cells - only the save, cancel, and field portions on the very top strip of the sheet...

    Track pad will navigate the cells your just selected on one cell. If you press the back button it should take you out of that one particular cell and let you navigate all the other cells.
