    I've had my Classic for less than a week and I've noticed a horrible crackling sound before and after a sound plays. Is it a software issue or do I need to return it?

    Rotate your headphone plug. I had that when I first started using my Passport. After a day or two it went away.

    Yes. It'll pop and crack like hell, but you should be able to find a good place for it.

    It still happens. Every time I start or stop a track or when I turn the volume up, I hear a pop sound. It's really annoying Maybe I'm not doing it right?
