Hi everyone . A buddy of mine is selling his brand new classic for 99 USD . I mean brand new . Black .

No os updates at all etc .

I used to have a passport and I sold it in febuary and I bought a priv .

Loved my priv so much until my little one threw it in the bath . Water damaged . No device insurance on it so that's 600 USD gone .

Currently using a Samsung note edge which was laying around and it's cool and all but I dont like it because my primary uses don't need an s pen and Samsung touch wiz etc .

I need whatsapp ,Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn, and I need the hub .

Also I need a pkb. Something about hitting a glass screen that just doesn't connect to me.

Still relevant or should I wait it out ?

99 USD is a good deal any way and I mean I can't get any worse than this Samsung I currently have.

The Classic in my opinion is still a great buy today. I just purchased one here on CB from the Marketplace about 2 weeks ago.

I have a few Passports a couple of Q10's and an iphone 6 and I am exclusively using the Classic everyday.

Can't speak on the apps you use because I only use LinkedIn of the ones you mention.

I am extremely pleased with the Classic, for me it's like the Q10 and Passport have been merged.

I loaded Cobalts Playstore and pretty much have every app I need.
99 bucks that's a great deal I'd be all over it in a heartbeat.

Yes! If you don't want it, I'd gladly take it off your friend's hands! Everything you said was spot on: typing on a PKB is preferable to typing on glass. If anything, it's a change of pace device, or a backup phone if your Note Edge runs out of juice.

It is absolutely worth it and that is a fantastic price. I love the keyboard and I get emails and work done faster than my co-workers with iPhone's(Boom)! I have had mine for two years now and it is still a fantastic work horse/daily driver for me. Buy the phone you will not be disappointed.

It's a great device and 99$ is a great price for it. Just remember a lot of apps are not supported for BlackBerry 10 devices.

OP mentioned the need for WharsApp - my understanding is it won't be available for bb10 post this year.

Whatsapp isn't going to run natively on BB10 in 2017 but you can still load it from the Play Store and indeed have hub integration
You shouldn't expect to have a super multmedia phone. However browsing is suprisingly pleasant in comparison to the Q10. Also the hub is much better than the Priv Hub and the kebyoard is soo much better and you have a trackpad which is very useful for all kinds of marking and the navigation keys makes the use much more fast because for most actions you don't have to switch between the keys and the touchscreen.
Buy this phone even if you say that in 2017 you won't use it anymore because of Whatsapp. Using the phone for 4 months is definitely worth spending 100 bucks.

Dude,100 bucks is the price of Q10 in my country. The Classic is still above $225 here.
I'd definitely get it if I find one with that price.

    $99 for a Classic?

That's such a good deal. WhatsApp won't work in the new year, but you could still sell it for more than the $99 you're paying for it if it's in good condition by then.

    Just an update,
With blackberry 10 coming to an end and no real updates coming through.. I decided to purchase the priv.

The classic is cool and all but the reason he was selling it was because plenty apps he needed to run were pulling out and the jellybean android run time, apps were not updating further and required kit kat as the base.

I kinda feel 99 usd was a good deal but I was wasting money because it just felt like I was investing in something that's only going to be useful to me for a few months.

Im not slating the classic, im just referencing it to my needs.. That's all..

Any way! Here's my Priv. Thanks everyone!

Get it. At my former employer, they demoted our company issued BlackBerry Bold devices for an iPhone 5. It basically went from a work issued device to more or less a entertainment device as it didn't have a PKB and it wasn't always reliable in staying connected to the network.

I needed a phone after switching employers and went for the Classic no questions asked. Boy am I glad I did as the Hub was worth it alone. The ability to connect both to my personal account as well as the company MS Exchange server is out of this world. It makes it so much easier to manage my personal calendar and work calendars on one device.

I think instead of a classic or a q10 or a passport... you should go for z30 it is the best bb10 phone and you will fin it for cheap. It larger than classic so watching videos will be amazing.. it will do well as a multimedia device and it will be great (like all other BlackBerry phones) for work too... Do consider z30 once before going for classic

The thing is it was never able to compete with the multi media phones even at the times of its release but the strengths of the phone being keyboard, messaging, etc.. still going strong and if you are into those it's just perfect(:

If you are a business professional, this is the one! Emails, texts, tasks, physical keyboard, bbm, BlackBerry assistant! You will be able to handle 3 or more communication apps at the same time through the Hub

For what it's worth, my experience with the Classic has been an 8 out of 10. I'd give it a higher rating but lately I've noticed it freezes up when opening apps and is quite sluggish. Like really sluggish. The only reason I've kept it is for responding to emails, BBM from my wife and texts. Browsing on the Classic is a complete joke and that's why ill be switching over to a Nexus 6P or the new Pixel phone by Google. Plus, I use the Google ecosystem a lot.
